Nestled in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, Winter Park transforms into a magical snow-covered escape each winter. Whether carving down world-class slopes, soaking in natural hot springs, or enjoying après-ski under the stars, this alpine gem offers the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and small-town charm.

Day 1: Arrival and Exploration of An Amazing Winter Wonderland

Morning: Arrive in an Amazing Winter Wonderland in Winter Park, CO. Begin your adventure by checking into your accommodation (if you can). Most places in Winter Park have a check-in time of 4pm. Whether you choose a slopeside condo, cozy cabin, luxury resort, or comfortable hotel, Winter Park offers a warm welcome with stunning mountain views. After settling in, take a leisurely stroll through downtown Winter Park. Visit local shops and pick up any necessary ski gear at one of the many outfitters.

Afternoon: Visit the Winter Park Resort. No visit to Winter Park is complete without a trip to the Winter Park Resort. Get your bearings and prepare for the next day’s skiing or snowboarding by picking up your lift passes, exploring the base area, or heading up the lift or gondola for the first afternoon of skiing. Also, enjoy a light lunch at one of the slopeside restaurants.

Evening: Dinner and Relax. Dine at one of Winter Park’s top restaurants, where you can enjoy local cuisine, such as trout or bison, paired with a craft beer from a nearby brewery. The restaurants in Winter Park offer a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure. After dinner, relax by a fire pit or enjoy a hot tub at your lodge, which is ideal for staying warm under the starry night sky and even better when it is snowing.

Day 2: Hit the Slopes

Morning: Skiing or Snowboarding After an energizing breakfast, it’s time to hit the slopes. Winter Park Resort is known for its diverse terrain, catering to all skill levels, from beginner to expert. Spend your morning carving down runs that suit your ability and thrill-seeking level.

Afternoon: Lunch and More Skiing Take a break at the Sunspot Mountaintop Lodge, where you can enjoy lunch with a panoramic view of the Rockies. Spend the rest of the afternoon tackling more challenging slopes or take a lesson to improve your skills.

Evening: Après-Ski and Dinner After a day filled with exhilarating slopes, join the après-ski scene at the base of the mountain. Enjoy live music, sip on hot chocolate or a spiked cider, and share stories of your mountain adventures. Consider a casual eatery where you can sample hearty stews and soups for dinner.

Day 3: Adventure Day

Morning: Snowmobiling Experience Winter Park’s winter landscape from a different perspective. Embark on a snowmobiling tour through the backcountry, a journey of discovery and adventure.

Afternoon: Visit Hot Springs. In the afternoon, drive to a natural hot spring. Soak in the healing waters and enjoy the serene views of the surrounding snow-covered peaks.

Evening: Local Cuisine and Culture Explore more of Winter Park’s culinary scene with a dinner featuring regional specialties. After dinner, check out a local bar or brewery for a taste of the nightlife and catch a live band or a comedy show.

Day 4: Relax and Depart the Amazing Winter Wonderland that is Winter Park

Morning: Leisurely Breakfast and Skiing/Snowboarding On your last morning, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel or a local café. Take one last stroll through downtown or Winter Park Resort to pick up some souvenirs and enjoy the crisp mountain air, or add more skiing/snowboarding to the list.

Afternoon: Departure. Pack up your memories and bags and check out of your accommodation. Depending on your departure time, you might squeeze in one last activity, like a quick visit to the Winter Park Historical Museum to learn about the area’s rich history.

Winter Park is a fantastic winter wonderland that offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. It is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to enjoy the winter season to its fullest. Whether skiing down challenging slopes, enjoying the local cuisine, or relaxing in natural hot springs, Winter Park provides a memorable getaway that will keep you coming back year after year.
